When Ancestry purchased Rootsweb the GenConnect boards were discontinued. I had been manager of those boards. Several obituaries had been posted by Dorothy McMackin and others. Those obituaries are now located at McMackin Boards at Ancestry

My earliest proven McMackin ancestor is Thomas McMackin born about 1743 who married Sarah JOHNSTON. His father MAY have been John McMackin.

My McMackin ancestors lived in Virginia, Tennessee, Missouri, and Kansas. My paternal grandmother, Nettie Pearl McMackin, was born and married in Wilson County, Kansas. She and her husband, Manson McManus Hoover, both died before my father married. Both are buried at Sans Bois Cemetery in Haskell County, Oklahoma. This McMackin history is dedicated to my grandmother, Nettie.
