Jessie Sanford Eaton, son of George Henry and
Louise (HUGHES) EATON, was born 19 July 1885 in Higginsville,
Mo. and died 4 April 1944 at Iconium, MO. He married Ruth Ann
ANGLIN on 9 August 1923 in Sedalia, Mo. She was born 7 May 1899
and died 1 May 1981. She is also buried in Iconium.
Jessie and Ruth Eaton had seven children: Lavonia Louise, Myrl
Verdeal, George Henry, John Franklin, Jack Dempsey, William
Martin, and Jessie Alonzo. Three are deceased.
Jesse S. Eaton
"The funeral services were held form the Iconium Baptist
Church this (Thursday) afternoon at two o'clock for Jessie
Sanford Eaton, who died suddently Tuesday afternoon as he was
enroute to the store at Iconium. The Rev. Kenneth Nichols
officiated. Burial was in the Iconium cemetery under the
direction of the Osceola Funeral Home.
Jessie Sanford Eaton, son of G. H. and Louise Eaton, was born
at Allville, Mo. on July 19, 1885 and departed this life near
his home at Iconium on Tuesday, April 4th, <1944> at the
age of 58 years, 8 months, and 16 days. He was united in
marriage to Ruth A. Anglin August 9, 1923. To this union seven
children were born.
He had been in failing health for almost four years, but his
sudden death came as a shock to relatives and friends.
Though he had never made an open profession in Christ, he had
often said that he was convinced that there was a higher power.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Mrs. Ruth Eaton, seven
children, Myrl, George, Frank, Jack, Billy and Alonzo, all of
the home, and Mrs. Wesley Ackers of Kansas City; one brother,
Frank Eaton of Des Moines, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Lacy Wear of
Kansas City and Mrs. Georgia Phillips of St. Louis, also a
number of distant relations.
He was a devoted husband, a kind and loving father and will be
sadly missed in his home and community."
Mrs. Ruth Ann Eaton
"Mrs. Ruth Ann Eation, 81, of 9416 E.
15th, Independence, died Friday at the home. She was born in
Warsaw, Mo., and had lived in this area most of her life. Mrs.
Eaton was a member of the Englewood Assembly of God Church. She
leaves five sons, George Eaton, Carthage, Mo.; John Eaton,
Kansas City; Jack Eaton, Independence, Bill Eaton, Carthage; and
Alonzo Eaton, Kansas City, Kansas; two daughters, Mrs. Myrl
Mann, Kansas City, and Mrs. Louise Riley, McDonald, Kan.; a
sister, Mrs. Martha Lester, Marshall, Mo.; 26 grandchildren; and
27 great grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the
Liberty Baptist Church, Iconium, Mo.; burial in Iconium
Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the Ott &
Mitchell Chapel."
George Henry Eaton
"George Henry Eaton, 68, Route 3, Carthage, died at
noon, Saturday, Sept 14, 1996, at his home after a long illness.
Mr. Eaton was born Jan. 8, 1928, at Malte Baend, Mo. He moved
to Carthage in 1967. He worked as a maintenance man for the
Missouri Highway Patrol satellite station at Carthage from 1976
to 1993.
He married Donna Lappin on Aug 4, 1980. She survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Dale Lappin, Carthage;
three daughters, Nita Robinson, Carthage; Donna Denice Eaton,
address unavailable; and Fay Riley, Sarcoxie; two brothers, Jack
Eaton, Holden, and Bill Eaton, Pittsburg, Mo.; two sisters Myrl
Mann, Kansas City, and Louise Riley, McDonald, Kan.; 19
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Iconium Baptist Church,
Iconium. The Rev. Leroy Weeks will officiate. Burial will be in
Iconium Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Barnhart, Craig Goodman, Rick Baird,
Archie Dunn, Rick Renner, Carl Rose and Larry Cooper.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at
Housh Funeral Home, Sarcoxie."

John F. Eaton
"John F. Eaton of central Kansas City died Aug. 21, 1989,
at Veterans Hospital. He was born in Sedalia, Mo., and moved to
this area in 1955. Mr. Eaton was a truck mechanic for Montgomery
Ward & Co. Inc. for 25 years, retiring in 1985, and was a
member of Local 838 of the Teamsters Union. He was a member of
the Northeast Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite bodies and Ararat
Shrine. Survivors include his wife, Grace J. Eaton of the home;
a son, Jerry Lyons, Baltimore; three brothers, George Eaton,
Carthage, Mo., Jack Eaton, Independence, and Bill Eaton,
Springfield, Mo.; and two sisters, Louise Riley, McDonald, Kan.,
and Myrl Mann, Kansas City. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at
the Passantino Chapel; burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery. Friends
may call from 5 to 8:30 p.m. today at the chapel."
Jesse A. Eaton
"Jesse A. Eaton, 48, Kansas City, Kan., a tavern owner,
died Saturday at Providence-St. Margaret Health Center.
Mr. Eaton worked for the Griffin Wheel Co. for 27 years. He
also owned Fatman's tavern in Kansas City, Kan., for six years.
He was a member of the Tri-County Rod and Gun Club, Bonner
Springs. He was a member of Local 5810 of the United
Steelworkers union.
He was born in St. Clair County, Mo. and lived in this area
most of his life.
He leaves his wife, Patricia J. Eaton of the home; two sons,
Tony A. Eaton, Kansas City, and Mark A. Eaton of the home; a
daughter, Renne Evans, Jarbalo, Kan.; two stepsons Brian L.
Collier and Jeffrey S. Collier of the home; a stepdaughter;
Cheryl Collier, Kansas City, Kan.; four brothers, John Frank
Eaton, Kansas City, Jack Eaton, Independence, and George Eaton
and William Eaton of Carthage, Mo.; two sisters, Myrl Mann,
Grandview, and Louise Riley, McDonald, Kan.; and six
grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Alden-Harrington
Chapel, Bonner Springs; graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m.
Tuesday at the Iconium (Mo.) Cemetery. Friends may call from 6
to 8 p.m. today at the chapel. The family suggest contributions
to the Arthritis Foundation."
