BENN, Anna M.
Anna Mary Benn, 86, died Friday, October 31, 1947, at her home on Ninth Street, Clarion, Penna.
Mrs. Benn, a daughter of William Parker and Salina (FACKENDER) STEWART, was born April 13, 1861 in Toby township, Clarion county. She had been a resident of Porter township since early girlhood until three years ago when she moved to Clarion.
She was married to John S. BENN, who died some years ago.
She is survived by two daughters, Miss Iva BENN, of Clarion, and Mrs. Blanche MALES, R.D. New Bethlehem. Three grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. BENN was a member of the Reformed Church of Curllsville.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the Stewart Funeral Home in Rimersburg with the Reverend H. R. LEQUEAR officiating. Interment was made in the Rimersburg cemetery.

Earl Claude BENN of RD 2, Templeton (Tidal) died Saturday night, March 15, in Brookville Hospital.
Born October 7, 1888, in Rimersburg, he was a son of Cyrus and Mary (PORTER) BENN. He was married October 21, 1909, to the former Vera Violet HENRY, who survives.
Mr. BENN was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church at Seminole and the United Mine Workers of America, Local 6439 at Fairmount City.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Clifford of RD 3, Grove City; George H. of Buffalo, N.Y.; and Sylvester of Harrisburg; four daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Esther) CARNES of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Mary RUSH of Tidal, Mrs. Richard (Gladys) BARGER of Erie and Mrs. Chester (Helen) WOLFF of Brookville; 13 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Nora BISH of Leechburg, and one brother Harry BENN of Rimbersburg.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Moore-Kline Funeral Home in Rimersburg. The Rev. David SELLECK, pastor of the Assembly of God Church at Clarion, will officiate and burial will be in the Tidal Cemetery.
BENN, Mrs. Ivie M.
Funeral services were held on Sunday from the Miller Funeral Home, Rimersburg, for Mrs. Ivie M. BENN of 203 Greenville Ave., Clarion, who died Thursday, Aug. 31, following an extended illness.
She was born July 25, 1885, in Porter Township, Clarion County, the daughter of John F. and Anna Mary (STEWART) BENN.
She lived the major part of her life in the Curllsville area. She was a member of the Grace Unitaed Church of Christ in Curllsville.
Surviving are one son, Arnold F. BENN, of Clarion; and one sister, Mrs. Blanche MALES, of Sligo. Also surviving are two nephews. One brother, Robert, preceded her in death.
Rev. Warren T. WOODWARD, pastor of the Rimersburg United Presbyterian Church officiated. Interment will be in the Rimersburg Cemetery.
BENN, John F.
Our community was grieved to hear of the death of our neighbor and friend, John F. BENN, of near Curllsville, on last Thursday morning, March 7, 1935. Mr. BENN had been in failing health for several years and on Monday, March 4, was taken in an ambulance to the Butler hospital where he was later operated on and passed away.
John F. BENN was a son of Henry and Margaret (CAMPBELL) BENN. He was born at Reidsburg on January 30, 1853. The parents moved soon after his birth to a new home in Porter township, where he has resided all his life. On December 25, 1884, he was united in marriage to Anna Mary STEWART who survives. Three daughters and one son were born to Mr. and Mrs. BENN. One daughter, Cora Alice, died in infancy and the son, Robert, died several years ago. The daughters surviving are: Mrs. Blanche MALES and Iva, at home; also two sisters, Mrs. Anna HAMM of Fairmont, and Mrs. Fanny PHILLIPS of New Bethlehem. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death, dying when small of scarlet fever.
Services were conducted by his pastor, Rev. Morris COOPER on Saturday, March 9, 1935, at 2:00 p.m. in the Grace Reformed Church at Curllsville with burial in the family plot in Rimersburg cemetery.
The sympathy of the entire community is extended to Mrs. BENN in her recent bereavement. Mr. and Mrs. BENN are greatly respected citizens and celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last Christmas.
BENN, Robert
Mrs. Grant PHILLIPS, near town, received word on Monday that her nephew, Robert BENN, had been killed in an automobile accident Saturday evening of last week in Ohio. He was the only son of John and Mary (STEWART) BENN, and was born on the farm of the late Henry L. BENN, now owned by his father, 32 years ago. The deceased was of a jovial nature and had many friends. He served in the late war, after which he spent some time at the home of his parents, later returning to Ohio where he had previously been employed. He was educated in the county schools and at the Clarion Normal. He leaves to mourn their loss his father, mother, two sisters, Mrs. John MALE of Piolette and Iva, at home. One sister died in infancy. His body was brought to the home of his parents Wednesday noon and burial took place Thursday at 2 p.m. in the U.P. cemetery beside kindred dust. Before going overseas he remarked to a relative that if his life was taken over there, he wanted to be buried there; but he was spared to return, and then his life was snuffed out without a minute's warning.
BENN, Russell Henry (Clarion Republican - 24 July 1958)
Russell Henry BENN, aged 57, died Tuesday, July 22, in his home in Sligo.
Mr. BENN was born at Huey, Clarion County on July 4, 1901, the son of James L. BENN, deceased, and and Mary Gertrude SWARM BENN, of Brookville.
He was married to Pearl L. ION in July of 1926. He was a member of the Sligo Methodist Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, William BENN of Clarion; and Donald BENN, serving with the U. S. Army at South Park Military Reservation, Pittsburgh. His mother, Mrs. Gertrude BENN, also survives along with two brothers; John BENN, Sligo, and Ray F. BENN, Clarion.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, July 24, at 2:30 p.m. at the Guy Hawk Funeral Home in Sligo. The Rev. J. Lee GORMAN officiating. Interment will be in the Sligo Cemetery.
HAMM, Mrs. Anna (BENN)
Mrs. Anna HAMM, for many years a resident of Fairmont City, died Monday evening, June 11, 194?, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chas. McCUNE, Fairmount City, Pa.
Mrs. HAMM, the daughter of Henry and Margaret (CAMPBELL) BENN, was born February 7, 1868 at Curllsville, Pa. She was married to William H. HAMM, who died some years ago.
She leaves four daughters and two sons; Mrs. Chas. JOHNSON, of Ribersburg; Mrs. James WHITLING, of Venus, Pa.; Mrs. Martin JONES, of Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Charles McCUNE, Fairmount City; Thomas HAMM, Rimbersburg, and Frank HAMM, Burhpur, India. She also leaves nineteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Mrs. HAMM was a member of the Firth Methodist church of New Bethlehem.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chas. McCUNE, Fairmount City, with her pastor, the Reverend Jas. L. BENSINGER, officiating. Burial in the Lutheran cemetery, Churchville, under the direction of W. S. _______.
