(The following is from "History of Bates County Missouri" published 1980)

"A. C. Rosier was born in Fayette County, Iowa, in 1864, a son of J. K. ROSIER and Susan Ann (CHAMBERS) Rosier, both of whom were born and reared in Logan County, Ohio. The family settled on a farm in Bates County in 1882, where the parents lived until death called them, the father dying in 1909 and the mother in 1894. To this union ten children were born.

In November of 1895, A. C. ROSIER and Lulu May FUNK were united in marriage and to this union four sons were born: Richard, Russell, David, and Vincent. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Rosier were prominent farmers on a large farm east of Passaic. A. C. Rosier died in 1922 and Mrs. Rosier in 1958.

Richard Scully Rosier and Elizabeth Ruth (GRIFFIN) Rosier were united in marriage August 10, 1926, and to this union one child was born, Patricia (ROSIER) DOWNEY. Mrs. Ruth (GRIFFIN) Rosier's grandparents were Reverend Jess GRIFFIN and Mary (Hollobaugh) GRIFFIN who immigrated from Tennessee to Arkansas in 1801 and to this union six children were born.

Mrs. Ruth Rosier's parents were Reverend John W. GRIFFIN and Laura (PATTERSON) GRIFFIN and they were united in marriage in 1905 and to this union three children were born: Paul H. GRIFFIN; Ruby M. TILLMAN, and Elizabeth Ruth (GRIFFIN) Rosier. The Pattersons were originally from Appleton City, Missouri. Mrs. Ruth (GRIFFIN) Rosier was reared in Harrison, Arkansas. She moved to Bates County in 1931. Mr. and Mrs. Richard S. ROSIER and daughter resided on a farm north of Butler, Missouri.

Jack and Pat (ROSIER) DOWNEY were wed on June 12, 1954. They live in Adrian, Missouri. Mr. Jack DOWNEY is a 25 year employee of Bendix of Kansas City, Missouri. Their son, Paul William DOWNEY, is a construction worker and their daughter, Tony Denise (DOWNEY) COOK, is a Medications technician. Both children attended Adrian High School. Toni graduating in 1975."
